A driving, cinematic arrangement of Carol of the Bells and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen for solo trumpet, in D minor. The solo opens warm and low, ideally on flugelhorn, and finishes above the staff. Sheet Music: The solo part in C and in B flat, so you play from the horn you own. Each comes in a standard version and a Virtuoso version, which takes the God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen episode up an octave and adds ornamentation. Four solo parts in all. Alongside them are four trumpet and piano combined scores pairing either solo version with a Late Intermediate or Advanced pianist, so whatever the pairing of player and pianist, there is a score for it.

Performance Accompaniment Tracks: The complete D minor accompaniment library, fourteen tracks for live performance. Full orchestral mixes and driving Standard mixes, across three revisions, with and without synth bass, with and without piano, so you can pick the exact sound for your venue. A piano and string orchestra mix is included for a more intimate setting. None of them contain the trumpet. You play the solo line live.

Rehearsal Tracks: Piano only accompaniment recordings at Advanced and Intermediate, so you can rehearse exactly what a live pianist would play before you step in front of an orchestra track.

Reference Recordings: All four trumpet and piano combinations recorded, standard and Virtuoso against each piano level, so you can hear the difference before you choose which one to program.

Four Chamber Pairings, Eight Editions, a Rhythm Section Combo + the Complete Soloist Suite — $99

Four different players you might have standing next to you, and a full edition for each. Trumpet with a second trumpet, with trombone, with alto sax, or with tenor sax, every one of them with piano. Each pairing ships in a standard and a Virtuoso edition, and every trumpet part comes in C and in B flat. Eight chamber editions in one bundle, with the complete Soloist Suite nested inside.

Two Trumpets & Piano: Parts for both players, each in C and in B flat, standard and Virtuoso. The two lines trade the melody and the fireworks, so neither player spends the piece accompanying the other. Combined scores at Advanced and Late Intermediate piano.

Trumpet, Trombone & Piano: The same arrangement with the second voice moved to trombone, which puts real weight under the trumpet in the low register. Trombone part in both editions, combined scores at both piano levels.

Trumpet, Alto Sax & Piano: A brighter, more agile second voice. Reads well for a jazz player who wants a concert feature.

Trumpet, Tenor Sax & Piano: Warmer and closer to the trumpet in range, so the two lines blend rather than contrast. The most idiomatic of the four for a church or school ensemble.

Rhythm Section Combo: Written Electric Guitar, Electric Bass and Drum Set parts plus a rhythm section chart, so you can add a rhythm section to any of the four pairings and get the driving sound of the recording in a room with four or five players.

Reference Recordings: Twelve recordings so you can hear the combinations before you choose one. Trumpet with trombone and trumpet with tenor saxophone are recorded at both piano levels, standard and Virtuoso. Two trumpets is recorded at Late Intermediate, standard and Virtuoso. Trumpet with alto saxophone is recorded at Late Intermediate, and at Advanced in the Virtuoso version. Hear the combination before you commit a rehearsal to it.

TRUMPET STRING ORCHESTRA SUITE

Solo Trumpet & String Orchestra, Score and Parts + Everything Below — $149

The concerto with a string section behind it. A full conductor's score and the complete set of parts, so a school, church or community string orchestra can put a trumpet player out front. The whole Ensemble and Soloist library comes with it.

Score and Parts: Two conductor's scores, the standard and a Virtuoso Version printing the ornamented solo line, and every string part, supplied at 9x12 for the stand and at 8.5x11 for a home or church printer. The solo comes in C and in B flat, each in a standard and a Virtuoso version.

Violin III (Viola T.C.): The viola line written in treble clef, for the group that has more violinists than violists. A real problem for school orchestras, solved in the box.

Optional Piano: The piano accompaniment is provided at Late Intermediate and Advanced, each engraved as a full score with the solo line above it. So the piece performs three ways from one purchase: with string orchestra, with string orchestra and piano, or with piano alone.

Editable Source Files: MusicXML for the conductor's score, every string part, the Violin III alternate, the solo in C and the optional rhythm section. Open it in Finale, Sibelius or MuseScore and adjust it for the players you actually have.

Program a Different Soloist Every Season: The accompaniment does not change with the soloist, so any of the four chamber pairings can be performed with the string orchestra instead of piano. The strings read the same conductor's score and the same parts either way; the soloists read their parts from the Ensemble Suite included here. Feature one trumpet this season, a trumpet duo the next, trumpet and trombone after that, or either saxophone pairing, in the standard or the Virtuoso edition. Buy it once and it keeps producing new programming for as long as you keep it in rotation.
